Experts Discuss Biological Diversity
Experts from all over the world gathered in Beijing to deliberate over the protection and utilization of biological variety on May 8. This marks the opening of the 3rd Beijing International High-tech Industries Week.
Protection and utilization of biological variety is the very base for subsistence and development of human beings as well as the hot spot of the world environmental issue. At this seminar, experts discussed a wide range of subjects, including matters concerning genetic engineering of crops, the industrialization and commercialization of agricultural bio-technology, the application scale of bio-technology and its effect on the diversity of biology.
These experts also discussed how to utilize nature reserves and to protect non-local areas for the management of biological diversity, as well as local areas for the protection of biological diversity. They also exchanged views on the principle and methods for the sustained utilization of wild animals.
