West China Railway Network Construction Blueprint Mapped

China's Railway Ministry, as is reported, has mapped out a blueprint for construction of a railway transportation network in western China.

According to plans, China will inject several hundred billion yuan into constructions and renovation of a railway network in a bid to improve the present communication situation in the west of China.

Guangming Daily reports that to build up an operational railway network in China's west is to be phased out into three consecutive construction stages: Projects will be launched step by step.

The first step is to link the existing railways with those trunk lines in the east, including a new railway between Baoji and Lanzhou and Nanjing-Xi'an railway to be built. Construction of an inter-provincial railway network and a transnational channel bridging Asia and Europe will be put to a later time.
