Telephone for Deafmute invented

A newly-invented telephone would enable the deafmute in China talk to others on the line. According to the inventor, Zhang Linmao, a retired primary school teacher in northeast Heilongjiang Province, the new device has a chip which could digitize the Chinese syllables and turn them into audible language.

The handicapped therefore could make heard what he what to say by press the figure keys. In case that the receiver on the other end is also a deafmute, the new telephone has an attached screen that could display the content.

Zhang said more than 6,000 Chinese characteristics were contained in his new device and the impute method is quite simple.

There are 20.57 million people in China suffering hearing problems. And the new device could help those people communicate with outside world and normal people around, experts said.
