Shanghai Bell Launches On-Line School

Shanghai Bell Company Limited, a Sino-Belgian joint venture, has opened a school on the Internet as part of its effort to further tap the global market.

The on-line school, with the address http://www.sbell.com.cn/webschool, is designed to provide training courses on various Bell products and related technology.

A Bell source said the move will help keep Bell product users well-trained, which is significant for the smooth operation of Bell products.

Shanghai Bell achieved about 900 million U.S. dollars in sales last year, compared with 540 million U.S. dollars in 1995. While holding a 30 percent share of China's program-controlled phone business, it has sold more than 100 million U.S. dollars worth of products in other countries.

The company has already established training centers across China and has provided training courses to more than 30,000 users.
