Big Pay Raises Reported for Foreign Experts Working in China

The minimum monthly pay of foreign experts working in China will be raised 85% to 2,200 yuan from 1,200 yuan from last March on, as is reported from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA).

A circular lately released by SAFEA and the Ministry of Finance rules that the pay raises announced are specially for those of foreign experts and other foreign nationals employed in China's institutions of higher learning, presses, departments of news media, of broadcasting, culture and arts, sanitation and sports. Educational institutions like kindergartens, primary and middle schools can refer to new wage scales promulgated.

Meanwhile, an Internet website known as "Golden Intellectual Project" online in Chinese and English will be launched by SAFEA in August to convenience foreign job seekers from abroad to make inquiries and get into contacts with related employers departments in China.

With the circular released as is said above, it is hoped that for a raise of their monthly pay foreign experts and other foreign nationals will enjoy a better life in China and that the country will be helped by increased expertise services from abroad.
