The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Finance is jointly hosting a ten-day training program on commercial banking skills in this capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

The training program, which was opened yesterday, is part of ADB's efforts to promote the modernization of credit administration systems in commercial banks in eight Asian countries during their economic restructuring.

By August this year, such training will be hosted in seven major Chinese cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Shanghai, Chongqing and Shenzhen.

The program covers numerous aspects of banking business such as loan operation, credit policy, and risk control.

Some 35 local financial officials and bank professionals are attending the training program.
