China Developing Construction Industry Laws
China is working on laws and regulations that deal with the construction industry to standardize controls over the country's booming construction business.
According to Lin Xuancai, director of the Design Department under the Ministry of Construction, China is drafting a series of laws, rules and regulations on residential buildings, construction work, and contracting in accordance with the Construction Law.
In addition, China is working on rules on construction safety, engineering design and administration of engineering construction.
The draft City Planning Law is also being revised. Rules and regulations on urban drainage, gardening, central heating, and utilization of gas have been submitted to the State Council and will be issued soon.
According to the ministry source, China has passed nearly 50 laws and rules on construction in recent years which include the Urban Real Estate Administration Law, the Construction Law, the Urban Afforestation Rule, the Urban Water Supply Rule, the Urban Road Administration Rule, and the Registered Architect Rule.
These laws and rules have helped put China's construction business in order and have helped urban construction and development, the official said.
