Inland, Macao Hold First Police Work Meeting Since Handover

Police leaders from inland and the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) of China held their first working meeting since China resumed the exercise of sovereignty over the territory on December 20, 1999.

Minister of Public Security Jiang Chunwang and Vice-Minister Tian Qiyu met with a delegation from the security department of the MSAR government.

During their talks, they recalled the friendly and effective cooperation between the two sides in cracking down on cross-border crimes, safeguarding social order, and protecting the lives and property of Macao residents.

The Macao delegation arrived in Beijing May 29.
