A Sustained, Record High Temperature Hits Guangzhou

June 6 this year was the traditional Dragon Boat Festival in the Chinese folk custom, but that same day, south China's Guangdong Province witnessed a phenomenon of "Dry Dragon Boat" (Han Long Zhou). Such a phenomenon only occurred four times in the past 50 years. The temperature of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, rose to 36.6�� after staying high for several days, ascending to a record high in the same period of the past 50 years.

According to meteorologists, Guangdong, under the control of subtropical high pressure, will continue to suffer from the extremely hot weather, and the highest temperature of Guangdong will reach 36�� to 38��in its western part, 35�� to 37�� in its eastern part and 36�� in Guangzhou City.
