First Tip for Hazardous Industrial Garbage in China

The first tip for dangerous industrial garbage in China has been built in this capital city of northeastern China's Liaoning Province.

With an area of 130,000 sq. meters, the tip is designed to handle 20,000 tons of nocuous solid garbage annually and can accept such dangerous items as metals, acid or alkaline garbage for up to 12 years with a total handling capacity of 240,000 tons.

Built with 6.44 million US dollars in world bank loans and 84 million yuan of Chinese counterpart fund, the tip was meant to be a demonstration project for similar projects in other Chinese cities.
