China's Early Entry into WTO Hoped

Enterprises piloting China's information industry in its interior hope China enter WTO as earlier as possible so that a successful enterprise pattern is to be created and good uses made of foreign capital and technological investment for their knowledge about domestic market demands in China, an official said Tuesday.

Standing Deputy Director of China State Information Center Liu He made the remarks in an interview when attending the "Digitizing China Forum" in Hong Kong.

He said that in face of challenges arising from China's pending entry into WTO Chinese enterprises should be encouraged to oppose monopoly and run for more transparency and that time should not be wasted to separate government functions from enterprise management. Only by doing so, the official stressed, can China attract talents from various countries and regions and enhance our productivity, in line with the evolving trend of high transparency in global trade.

Internet investment and construction and training of specialty in China are in urgent need, the official noted.

"We should exert more efforts for technical study on subjects like cutting taxation on Internet economy, shortening production circle and guaranteeing employment opportunities for better keeping in pace with the development of a new economy", the official said.
