Chinese Life Insurance Congress to Be Held in HK

The Third World-wide Chinese Life Insurance Congress will be held in Hong Kong from August 11 to 13, the congress' organizer IMM International Group announced Tuesday.

The congress is aimed to provide a platform for the Chinese speaking people engaged in the insurance business to exchange their experience and ideas, said Choo Siak-Leong, vice president of the Taiwan-based IMM.

The main topics of the congress include the challenges and impact on the insurance business after China's entry into the World Trade Organization.

More than 3,000 people, including about 1,000 from the Chinese mainland, have registered for the meeting, said the organizer. The biennial congress was launched in Taiwan in 1996 and the second one was held in Malaysia.
