HK to Participate in World Stamp Expo 2000

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will participate in the international stamp exhibition World Stamp Expo 2000 organized by the U.S. Postal Service.

This was announced by Luk Ping-chuen, postmaster general of the HKSAR Tuesday. The exhibition will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, from July 7 to 16, 2000.

Luk said the purpose of Hong Kong's participation is to promote HKSAR stamps to overseas philatelists

Hongkong Post will issue a souvenir cover to commemorate its participation in the exhibition. A special postmark and a cachet will be introduced to commemorate the exhibition. Hand-back service for the special postmark will be provided at 38 philatelic offices and the exhibition venue on July 7, the opening day of the exhibition.
