US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Arrives in Beijing

US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright arrived in Beijing early Thursday morning to kick off her two-day visit to China.

During her visit, she is expected to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan. Chinese state leaders will also meet her.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhu Bangzao said that China sincerely hopes that the United States will strictly observe the three Sino-US joint communiques and relevant commitments it has made, and take practical measures to promote a healthy and steady growth of bilateral ties.
