World's Smallest Fingerprint IC System Invented

Chinese and French scientists have developed the world's smallest fingerprint identification system.

The system, portable and reportedly highly accurate, is the product of joint efforts of China's advanced fingerprint identification technology and the IC system of the Bull Information System Inc. of France.

Currently, most of the world's leading fingerprint identification systems are used in the warning systems for large- sized computers. They are not only large in size, but also expensive.

The newly invented fingerprint identification technology consumes less energy and costs less.

"The introduction of the new system can do a lot to help prevent illegal activities involving false identification cards and bank accounts," said Qiu Baiyun, chief scientist at Hangzhou Miaxia Technology Development Co., Ltd.

As a pioneer of E-commerce and one of the world's largest suppliers of ATM, POS and IC cards, the Bull company has 1,200 patents in the IC field, and expects to earn 1.245 billion French francs annually in added value for its fingerprint IC system.
