CFIIT Seeks Investment in Macao

Organizing officials of the upcoming Fourth China Fair for International Investment and Trade (CFIIT) held a press conference in Macao Wednesday to brief the possible foreign investors.

The fair, scheduled from September 8 to 12 in the southeastern coastal city of Xiamen, will be the only national event for direct foreign investment.

In addition to investment and trade discussions, the fair will pay attention to publicizing China's new policies on foreign investment and on the development in the mid-western areas of the country.

"International Investment Forum" will be held during the fair with the participation of Chinese and foreign officials, scholars and leaders of economic organizations.

Organizing officials disclosed that 15,000 projects are ready for investors.

During the first five months this year, they said, 7,724 foreign-funded projects were already approved, involving a contracted investment of US$18.25 billion, 25.63 per cent up from the same period last year.
