Best Waterfall Group of South China Reappears

The "Best Waterfall Group to the South of the Yangtze River" in the high mountains of Huiji Mountain range in Zhejiang Province recently was re-discovered after it was forgotten for more than 1,000 years.

Located in Shengzhou at the Huiji Mountain range, the waterfall group consists of nine waterfalls in a deep gorge which is about one-km long. Looking up at the foot of the main waterfall, you will find it jumping out from a crack of the umber broken ridge and flying down from the 66-meter-high cliff and falling into a deep pool, representing a magnificent sight to tourists. The main waterfall, together with other eight waterfalls, which are spurting out of the cliffs or dropping from the ridges like a filament, forms a waterfall group with tremendous momentum.

Since this beautiful scenery was discovered, tourists have flocked to visit it. The local department of tourism plans to invest an additional 5 million yuan on the basis of the original 1 million yuan to carry out in-depth development. It's reported that when a new local expressway is completed and opened to traffic in the second half of this year, it will take only three hours to travel from Shanghai to Shengzhou.
