China to Hold Festival of Delicacies

Starting this year, China will hold an annual festival of delicacies, organizers announced Wednesday.

The first such festival will take place from November 1 to 8 in this capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The festival is jointly sponsored by the State Administration of Internal Trade and the municipal people's government of Hangzhou.

During the festival, delicacies from all parts of the country, along with over 200 local snacks, will be available in the city's hotels and restaurants.

The best 10 chefs in the nation will be selected, and medals be awarded for the best cuisine and snacks, the organizers said.
