US Secretary of Defence to Visit China: FM spokesman
The United States Secretary of Defence William Sebastian Cohen will pay an official visit to China from July 11 to 15, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi.
Sun made the announcement in Beijing Thursday at a regular press conference in response to a question.
Sun said that Cohen is invited by Chi Haotian, who is vice-Chairman of China's Central Military Commission, Defence Minister and State Councilor.
He said that Chi and Cohen will hold talks to exchange views on issues of common concern during Cohen's visit.
Sun noted that Cohen will also meet with other leaders of the Chinese government and armed forces, adding that relevant schedules are being arranged.
