Xinjiang Students Sat for College Entrance Exams by Five Different Languages

News from Xinjiang said that students of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang took part in this year's national college entrance exams in five different languages of Chinese, Uygur, Kazak, Kirgiz and Mongol.

Statistics show that this year, 66694 students entered their names for college exams in Xinjiang, of whom, 42513 sat the exams in Chinese, and the rest 24181 in minority languages.

Han Chunxi, a person responsible for regional enrollment of students said that this year's college entrance exams had some special features : first, there was an increase of examinees to 67000; secondly, the region is going to take in 44258 students, accounting for 60 % of the total, a high enrollment rate. 1490 ethnic minorities out of the total sat the exams in Chinese and 1485 students will be enrolled, taking up over 99% of the enrollment rate.
