Chinese President Meets Youth and Students Organization Members

President Jiang Zemin Monday called on youth and student representatives to unite with Chinese young people of different ethnic groups to reinvigorate the nation.

Jiang, who is also general secretary of the Central Committee of the ruling Chinese Communist Party, made the call today during a meeting with some 1,600 members of the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) and the All-China Students' Federation (ACSF), who are here to attend their national congresses scheduled to open tomorrow.

The First Plenum of ACYF's Ninth National Committee and ACSF's 23rd National Congress will mobilize youths and students to contribute their wisdom and strength to the country.
