Bank of China Launches Online Banking in Hong Kong

The Bank of China (BOC) Group announced the launch of "iT's Online Banking" service Tuesday in Hong Kong, enabling customers to manage their finance any time and anywhere through the Internet.

The "iT's Online Banking" contains a host of comprehensive banking services, including the opening of time deposits account, balance inquiry, transfer and bills payment. Securities trading and credit card service is also available online, with free inquiry of real time stock prices and diversified financial information.

Liu Jinbao, chief executive of the BOC Hong Kong-Macao Regional Office, said at the launch ceremony that the modern banking service has now much room for the development, both in real and virtual realm.

"By capitalizing on the ever ongoing technological development, the BOC Group would continue to keep abreast of time to explore vigorously our e-banking and e-commerce, adding new dimension to our banking services," he said.

The BOC Group has so far a full series of e-banking services, including telephone banking, interactive banking, mobile banking and online banking.
