Olympic Website to Open in August

In order to provide more Olympic news at to Chinese Internet users, the official website of the Chinese delegation the 27th Olympic games will go online at the end of this August, according to a news briefing held Wednesday by the Market Development Committee of Chinese Olympic Bidding Committee.

Sina.com was granted the privilege of being China's official sponsor for online coverage of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

The proposed website address is: www.chinaolympics2000.com. Until it goes up next month, Chinese can go to Sina's http://aoyun.sina.com.cn/ website to get previews about the Sydney Games.

The 27th Olympic Games will be held from September 15 to October 1 in Sydney, Australia. Chinese worldwide will be close attention to Chinese Olympic delegations and the cooperation between the delegation and Sina.com will provide better service for them said officials from the Market Development Committee.

The journalists traveling with the Chinese team to Sydney will reportedly provide most of the content for the new website.
