Chinese, Laotian Presidents Hold Talks

President Jiang Zemin held formal talks with Laotian President Khamtay Siphandone Friday morning.

The two heads of state are expected to exchange views on bilateral ties and issues of common concern.

Khamtay Siphandone, who arrived here Thursday, is on a three-day state visit at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.

Prior to the talks, Jiang hosted a ceremony to welcome the Laotian guests.
