North Korea Says Its FM Will Meet Albright

North Korea says its Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun will meet the U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The meeting, planned for Wednesday in the Thai capital of Bangkok, will be the highest level meeting between the two countries in history.

But, the U.S. says due to the unpredictable nature of the Middle East peace talks, it cannot yet make a formal announcement about the exact timing of the meeting.

Paek and Albright are both expected to take part in the seventh ASEAN forum in Thailand on Thursday and Friday.

It'll be the first time North Korea takes part in the forum, which was set up in 1994 to promote confidence building, preventive diplomacy and conflict resolution in south east Asia.
