CAAC Official Denies Ticket Price Rise

An official with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) recently denied the rumor about a 5 percent price hike of plane tickets recently and said that adjustment of air ticket price hadn't been formally put on the agenda.

The official affirmed that it's just rumor and a topic involved in idle talks. The price of plane tickets absolutely won't rise and reports on price hike are incorrect, he said.

He disclosed while explaining the matter that at a recent meeting of aviation industry, some responsible persons of airline companies suggested while chatting that since the constant rise of oil prices had led to the rise of taxi price, so they thought that the prices of boat tickets and plane tickets should also be raised.

In the opinion of the official, the rise of oil price will indeed increase the burden of the airline companies, and it seems only natural to raise the price of plane tickets along with oil price hike, however, to raise the price of plane tickets is not the key to solving the problem. Now that it is the busy tourist season and the number of passengers has increased somewhat, under such circumstance, a rise in plane ticket price can only frighten the passengers away.
