Chan Receives Honorary Fellowship from SOAS

The school of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London conferred Thursday the title of Honorary Fellow on the Administrative Secretary Anson Chan to acknowledge the significant role she has played in Hong Kong's social development, according to a government news release.

In his citation speech, Head of the Department of Law Michael Palmer said that the title was conferred on Chan for her contributions to public service and promotion of ideals of openness, fairness and compassion in government.
