Landlocked Gansu Expects Billions Yuan from Coastal Province

A trade delegation from east China's Zhejiang Province arrived Saturday in this capital of Gansu Province for investment projects expected to involve more than 3 billion yuan.

At today's trade talks, entrepreneurs from both provinces signed 72 letters of intent involving a total investment worth 3.78 billion yuan (455 million US dollars) with 3.29 billion yuan (396 million US dollars) from Zhejiang.

Zhang Dejiang, secretary of Zhejiang's Provincial Committee of Communist Party of China, who led the delegation, said Zhejiang needs to invest in the western regions and the province will make investment plan in the region.

Earlier this year, companies of Zhejiang province signed 3 billion yuan (361 million US dollars) of investment contracts with their counterparts in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Among the contracts signed, industrial, agricultural, infrastructure, real estate, trade and technological investment projects are most appealing to investors from Zhejiang.

A Trade Fair featuring good-quality products from Zhejiang also opened today in Lanzhou.
