Marine tours to Viet Nam via Beihai Popular

Marine tours to Viet Nam via Beihai, a coastal city on Beibu Gulf in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, have become popular with Chinese, especially those from Pearl River Delta in neighboring Guangdong Province.

Information from the Huandao Shipping Company of Beihai, which is authorized to operate the marine tours, said 13,000 Chinese people took part in marine tours to Viet Nam in the first six months of the year, 60 percent of whom were from Pearl River Delta. The rest were from Chongqing, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai and Henan.

The company had to double its two return voyages to Viet Nam every week as of July 13 to meet the growing demand. Tickets for the tours during holidays are still hard to get and should be booked two months in advance.

A corporate executive disclosed that they planned to purchase a new and larger luxury passenger liner to replace the passenger ship now in service.
