Street Relic of Tang Dynasty Discovered in Hebei

A portion of an ancient street, believed to have been built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) was discovered in Baoding in north China's Hebei Province.

Lying 5.25 meters underground, the street runs in an east-west direction. It is 20 centimeters thick, and still has its distinct marks from wheels that had traveled upon it, according to a local cultural relic department.

Some remnants of china, made during the Tang Dynasty, were also found in the soil and experts inferred that the street is from the Tang Dynasty as well.

The street has not been completely unearthed, but experts say it is five meters wide, but its length has yet to be determined.
