Market Value of Listed Companies in Hong Kong Totaled HK$5 Trillion

Data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange shows that the total value of listed companies in Hong Kong reached HK$5 trillion by the end of July, a sharp 43% increase from the HK$3.5 trillion of the same period last year.

By late July, Hong Kong's listed companies totaled 718, up 30 compared with the same period last year. Between January to July, daily transaction value reached to HK$14.29 billion versus HK$6.70 billion during the same period of last year.

There were 41 companies listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) by the end of July, and daily transaction values totaled HK$4.07 trillion from January to July.

The total value of mainland China's stock markets is expected to reach over 4.200 trillion yuan, with more than 1,000 listed companies.
