BOC to Launch Foreign Exchange Loans for Overseas Study

Bank of China Shanghai Branch will launch foreign exchange loans for personal overseas study, such loan being designed for those who wish to pursue master or doctorate degrees in alien lands.

The Shanghai Branch has mapped out a new strategy for an all-round development at its annual meeting: switching concepts for deepening structural reforms so as to build up a good mechanism in company management to meet with China's accession into the WTO.

First, the bank will enhance its client services by way of developing information technology. That is, on the basis of using new personal business computer in the first half of this year, the latter half will see the branch to bring out more ways for clients' service, such as setting up a new account management system to lay a foundation for carrying out the account's databank business in the future.

Secondly, the bank will step up the innovation of financial products on the basis of its traditional advantage in foreign exchange business. The bank will launch personal overseas study foreign exchange loans for those wishing to pursue master or doctorate degrees abroad in the latter half of the year.
