Nepal's Foreign Minister to Vist China

Nepal said on Tuesday that Foreign Minister Chakra Prasad Bastola would make a six-day official visit to China from August 20.

The visit was at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxun, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

It added that Bastola would discuss bilateral matters with China during the trip.

"We are working out the details of Bastola's meeting with the Chinese leaders," a ministry spokesman said.

He said the trip was mainly to attend celebrations of the 45th year of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two neighbours.

China, whose President Jiang Zemin had toured the Himalayan kingdom in 1996, assists it in areas of roads, hydropower, industry and transport.
