Official Suspected of Bribery Put on Trial in Central China

Ou Yangsong, former director of the Provincial Industry and Commerce Administrative Bureau of Central China's Hunan Province, was put on public trial in the provincial capital today by the Changsha Intermediate People's Court on charges of bribery.

Ou, 58, was arrested in June last year. Investigation shows that from 1992 to 1999, he accepted bribes worth over 1.03 million yuan.

Meanwhile, Ou has more than 1.45 million yuan of property that he cannot be accounted for. Ou's wife Bai Jianyi was also put on trial today for collaborating with Ou.
