People Spending More Money on Their Pets

Pet lovers are now spending more and more money on their animals, according to report of China Radio International.

The Harbin Daily says there're now many kinds of pet foods available in supermarkets - including internationally known brands.

And, over the past few years, lots of pet hospitals have sprung up.

So if a pet is sick, money's needed for medicine, or even surgery.

The paper says in some western countries, spending on pets is now part of people's whole consumption.

People are spending on toys for their pets, and pet beauty treatments, like dog shampoos and manicures.

The Harbin Daily says relevant commercial sectors should realize the potential of the market, and tap into it.
