China Establishing Postal Logistic Network

China is establishing a nationwide postal logistic network, according to the State Post Bureau.

The network embraces 3,236 logistic centers covering 2,300 cities, in charge of handling, transporting and distributing postal freight.

Meanwhile, the country's postal authorities recently worked with 40 domestic and foreign enterprises on intensifying their E-commerce logistic system.

According to an official from the bureau, the postal sector has set out to perfect its distribution system in 2000, in order to remove the barriers in the E-commerce postal system in urban areas.

One of the measures is to station China Postal Airlines' Yun-8 planes in Beijing, transporting mail on the Beijing-Shanghai-Guangzhou route.

China Postal Airlines, originally based in Tianjin, was set up in February, 1997.

Experts agreed that the change will significantly help enhance the efficiency of the network..
