Cambodia Sticks to 'One China' Policy: Chea Sim

Chea Sim, Acting Head of State and President of Cambodia's Senate, Monday here reaffirmed that "The Government and Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia always uphold 'One China' Policy".

The President made the announcement at Chamkar Morn Palace this morning when he received the credentials from Ning Fukui, newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Samdech Chea Sim said he believes that Ambassador Ning can accomplish his mission during his term of office, and will make new contributions to the promotion of the friendship and cooperation between the two nations. He also expressed thanks for the good treatment for King Norodom Sihanouk's disease to the Chinese Government and people.

Chinese ambassador Ning said the friendship between China and Cambodia will be beneficial to peace and stability in the Asian-Pacific area. He conveyed to Samdech Chea Sim greetings from President Jiang Zemin, Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee Li Peng and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Li Ruihuan.
