Kyrgyzstan President Meets with Chinese Delegation

Kyrgyz President Askar Akayevich Akayev expressed his satisfaction at the speedy development of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China during a meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation Wednesday.

During the meeting between Akayev and Dai Bingguo, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as the head of a visiting Chinese delegation, Akayev expressed his full confidence in further development of relations.

Akayev went on to stress that Kyrgyzstan will strengthen cooperation with China to combat separatism, terrorism and religious extremists in order to keep the peace and stability in this region.

The Chinese delegation arrived in Kyrgyzstan Wednesday, the third leg of a three-country visit to Central Asia, with Kazakhstan and Tajikistan as the first two stops.
