Argentine President Visits Shanghai
Xu Kuangdi, mayor of Shanghai, met Monday with visiting Argentine President Fernando de la Rua and his party.
Xu briefed the guests on Shanghai's economic development and the urban construction in the city.
De la Rua praised the rapid economic development in Shanghai, adding that Argentine enterprises expect to strengthen cooperation with Shanghai.
The Argentine president visited a local financial and trade zone and a stock exchange.
De la Rua and his party arrived in Shanghai last night on a five-day state visit to China, at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.
