Guangzhou Reclaims 10 Million Square Meters of Idle Land

GUANGZHOU-- A total of 10 millionsquare meters of land that had been left unused for three years was reclaimed by the government of Guangzhou City, capital of south China's Guangdong province.

The land, which had been planned for developing real estates, building infrastructures and improving local communications and energy, was not actually used "because of various reasons", officials of the Guangzhou municipal government said today.��

Guangzhou plans to sell part of the land through public bidding,he said, adding that the city government will pay more attention to see to a proper use of the land to avoid wasting resources.
