Women's Soccer Team Defeated Nigeria by 3:1

Women's Soccer Team Defeated Nigeria by 3:1
China opened their Olympic title quest with a 3-1 victory over Nigeria in a Group F match on Thursday.

The Chinese team, last year's World Cup runners-up, took advantage of better teamwork and technique and dominated for most time of the match.

Zhao Lihong opened the scoring eight minutes into the match and captain Sun Wen made it 2-0 at the 53rd minute.

Sun Wen scored her second goal at the 83rd minute with a brilliant free-kick. But one minute later, second half substitute Xie Huilin fouled down Ifeanyichukwu Chiejene and Perpetua Nkwocha made no mistake in converting the penalty kick.

In the other Group F match played at melbourne, the United States beat Norway 2-0.
