Mali Supports Beijing's Olympic Bid

Kissima Sylla, chief-de-mission of Mali sports delegation for 2000 Olympic Games, said here Thursday that he fully support Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games.

"Seven years ago, I supported Beijing's bid for the 2000 Olympics, and this time, I fully support Beijing as before," he said.

Sylla added that China has been achieving great progress in sports in recent years, and further more, Beijing has modern sports infrastructures, which makes it fully qualified to be Olympic host.

Mali sent five athletes to take part in Sydney Games, but they might be return home empty-handed. Sylla said:"Our aim here is to promote sports in Mali through our participation at Olympics."
