Dalian Beats Yunnan to Maintain Top Standings

Dalian Shide whitewashed Yunnan Hongta 4-1 to maintain the top standings of the Chinese first division soccer league in Dalian, liaoning province on Thursday.

The all five goals were netted in the first half. After 23 round matches, Dalian amassed 49 point with 15 victories, four draws and four defeats.

Shanghai Shenhua, only one point behind Dalian, defeated the defending champions Shandong Luneng 2-1. Shanghai Shenhua now collected 48 points, ranking second in the standings.

With three round of competitions remaining, Dalian and Shanghai will vie for the league title of this season.

In the match between Beijing Guo'an and Chongqing Longxin, both sides entering this year's Chinese soccer association cup final, played a hard-fought match. Beijing Guo'an controlled the first half and led 3-0 at the halftime. but Chongqing Longxin played a good attacking game and scored two goals in the second half.

In today's other matches, Tianjin Taida lost to Sichuan Quanxing 0-2, Jilin Aodong lost to Liaoning Fushun 0-1, Qingdao Hainiu beat Xiamen Xiaxin 2-0, and Shenyang Haishi tied Shenzhen Ping'an 0-0.
