Yang Ling of China is leading by one point into the final after the fast runs of men's 10m running target qualification in the shooting competition at the Sydney Olympic Games.

Oleg Moldovan of Moldova qualified in second place on 580, one point behind Yang Ling. Another Chinese shooter Niu Zhiyuan was the third qualifier with 578 points. Niu was ranked 15th after day one, and shot a 292 during the fast runs to make the final.

A countback was required to determine the final two qualifiers, with medal favorite Manfred Kurzer of Germany and Dmitri Lykine of Russia qualifying seventh and eighth for the 10 shot final.
