MII: China to Launch 5 Rules on Telecom Services

China is to put into operation five laws on telecommunications services to better regulate the telecom industry, officials from the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) announced Friday.

Among them, regulations on regular report on service quality, and public announcement on service quality, are to be released soon, which are aimed to put the telecom industry under the surveillance of the society to upgrade the service level of the telecom market, MII said.

Other regulations on telecom service quality, including the draft rules on telecom supervision and management, draft rules on complaints hearing from telecom subscribers, and satisfaction degree evaluation procedures, have been under the way of legalization.

The enactment of new telecom rules is to solve the increasing disputes on telecom services over the past years due to the lack of strict and appropriate regulation, MII emphasized. (source: chinadaily.com.cn)
