China's largest Ecological Tourism Park

China's largest state-level ecological tourism park, Chongqing Wild Animal World, will open to tourists at the end of this year, said sources from the State Forestry Administration (SFA).

The park covers an area of some 333 hectares. It was approved to be set up in Yongchuan County of Chongqing, in southwest China, by the SFA in March 1998.

Some 430 varieties of animals will be introduced to the park, which will have a total of more than 30,000 animals.

A SFA official said that southwest China boasts sound ecological environment, and the park in Chongqing will be beneficial to the breeding of wild animals and help enhance people's sense of protecting animals.
