Motorola Trains Management Personnel for Western China

A total of 81 managers from state enterprises in western China recently graduated from a training course sponsored by Motorola.

This is the second time Motorola has trained management personnel for state enterprises in west China. The project is co-sponsored by the company and the State Development Planning Commission of China.

The trainees, who come from the Changhong Group based in southwest China's Sichuan Province, and other large and medium-sized state enterprises as well as renowned private enterprises, studied leadership styles, quality management, financial management and other topics.

An official with Motorola said that the company pays close attention to the development of the western region, and hopes to participate in the massive campaign.

It is learned that Motorola has trained 1,300 people from more than 330 enterprises across China since 1998. Motorola plans to offer training courses for 1,000 Chinese enterprises by 2003.

As the biggest foreign investor in China's electronic sector, Motorola has set up two solely-funded firms and eight joint ventures in China since it first invested in the country in 1987.
