Chinese Tibetan Studies Specialists Leave for Europe

A delegation of Chinese specialists on Tibetan Studies left Tuesday morning for a visit to Denmark, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The delegation, led by Deputy President Kalsang Gyaltsen of the Tibet Academy of Social Sciences, includes scholars from the Tibet academy, the Chinese Center for Tibetan Studies, the Tibet University, and the Council for the Chinese Society of Law on Ethnic Issue.

During the trip, the delegation will brief the hosts on China's progress on Tibetan studies and the development of Tibetan culture as well as the autonomous region's achievements in social stability and economic growth, according to Kalsang Gyaltsen

He said he hopes that the trip will help the four countries have a better understanding of the actual situation in Tibet.

Similar delegations have visited dozens of countries and regions since the 1980s, thus enabling foreign countries and their peoples to learn more about Tibet.
