China Welcomes Positive Results of Cho Myong Rok's US Trip
China said Friday it welcomes the positive results of the recent visit to the US by First Vice-Chairman Cho Myong Rok of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
When commenting on the visit and the joint communique signed by the two countries during the visit, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao said that such results are conducive to improving DPRK-US relations and promoting peace, stability and development on the Korean peninsula and in the region as a whole.
"China welcomes all this," he said.
Zhu said that the Chinese government has made continued efforts to maintain peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, and always welcomes and supports such efforts.
