Chinese Vice Premier Meets Libyan Guest

Vice Premier Qian Qichen met Thursday with Libyan Secretary for External Relations and International Cooperation Abdel Rahman Shalgham, who is here attending the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.

Qian said that the friendly cooperation between the two countries has been progressing well since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 22 years ago.

He said that China attaches importance to developing friendly cooperation with Libya and is willing to work with Libya to push forward bilateral relations.

Shalgham said Libya highly appreciates the forum initiated by the Chinese side and the two major documents adopted by the forum.

He noted that relations between the two countries are very friendly, adding that Libya is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in various areas.
